About Malayka

Hi, I’m Malayka {mi-like-ah}, a certified nutrition and health coach, and general wellness nerd.  As a strong believer that great health comes from within YOU, I am passionate about empowering women to own their wellness.  Through health coaching I guide people to make gentle, long-lasting habit shifts so that they can go from surviving to thriving.

My own journey to wellness has been far from linear.  What began with a healthy childhood, took an abrupt nosedive when I left home to navigate the real world!  Through a series of unfortunate events that I followed up with some rather questionable lifestyle choices sent me down a path of crippling stomach pains, chronic fatigue, burnout, anxiety, insomnia, an autoimmune condition, and more doctor visits than I could count.  New symptoms seemed to constantly arise and yet nobody could give me any real answers.

It would take me 20 years to realise that the answers lay within myself, that my body was in fact not against me but communicating its needs so loudly that I could not ignore them.  When I finally began to truly listen and adjust my lifestyle accordingly, the changes were profound!

Seeing others so many others lost and struggling inspired me to re-train as a nutrition and health coach (through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition).  I believe in a holistic approach to wellness where we explore sleep habits, movement, nutrition, and stress management to bring overall wellness into alignment.  There is never a one size fits all, so it is important to ensure that we uncover what is unique to you.

These days, when I’m not immersed in the wellness world, you’ll find me exploring and adventuring with my family, lost in a book or trying to stay upright on my surfboard.
